Hut
In
september 1899, the famous painter Giovanni Segantini, wishing. To complete his
triptych for the forthcomin world fair in Paris, retreated to the Schafberg hut above Pontresina. On 28 september, 1899 the artist died unexpectedly from a
stomach inflammation. His beautiful triptych
of the alps can be seen in the segantini museum at St. Moritz.

Today
the hut with his spectacular view down the Engadine is a popular excursion for
local inhabitants and visitors from all over the world. A tradition we are
delighted to continue!
